# Statement on AI Usage

As a writer passionate about sharing my learnings, I never publish AI-generated content. I do, however, use AI to assist with the writing process, which is documented below.

When researching topics for articles, I often use [Google Gemini](https://gemini.google.com/) to get a broad overview. I fact-check all references with my own targeted web searches and reading to ensure they align with the AI-generated response. This fact-checked research is then used to structure my article outlines, guaranteeing the content I share is factually correct.

All of my articles are written by me, without AI assistance, to ensure that my own voice and style come through. My process usually starts with a rough draft where I lay out the main points. From there, I review and refine the draft, shaping it into the final article you see published.

For editing, I rely on [Google Gemini](https://gemini.google.com/) for[developmental edits](https://thewritepractice.com/developmental-editing/). I never take an AI-generated suggestion as-is; I apply the suggested structural edits using my own words to retain my voice.

I also use [Grammarly](https://www.grammarly.com/) for grammatical and spelling edits. I only apply minor edits automatically, and then make larger edits manually. This ensures I retain my voice while still enhancing the overall flow and grammatical correctness of the content.

For cover images, I might occasionally use[Google Nano Banana](https://gemini.google/us/overview/image-generation/?hl=en) or[Google Imagen](https://deepmind.google/models/imagen/).

Finally, I use [Google Gemini](https://gemini.google.com/) to generate excerpts of my articles, which I then tweak to my liking. You'll see these excerpts on social media previews of my blog post.
